BUILDING TOWARD GAME DAY.

The steel is up, the vision is becoming visible, and Home Turf Sports Complex is one step closer to game day.

What began as an idea shared by five local sports families is taking shape in Fairview Heights. The planned 45,000-square-foot facility will bring flexible turf space, batting cages, golf simulators, performance training, and room for families to gather under one roof.

We are building more than a place to practice. Home Turf is being designed as a year-round destination where athletes can train with purpose, teams can prepare together, and families can spend less time driving from one facility to the next.

There is still work ahead, and we are excited to share each milestone along the way. Follow the Build for construction photos, progress updates, and announcements as we move toward our planned 2027 opening.

ONE ROOF. MORE POSSIBILITIES.

Home Turf is being planned with one goal: bring more of the sports-family experience together under one roof.

The planned 45,000-square-foot indoor sports complex will include flexible turf space, six batting cages, two golf simulators, a performance lab, and a fully equipped weight room. It is being designed for individual training, team practices, lessons, games, and more.

For athletes, that means more opportunities to train with purpose. For families, it means a place to gather, connect, and spend less time driving from one facility to the next.

As construction continues, we will keep sharing what is ahead and the people helping Home Turf come to life.

Five Families. One Big Idea.

Wed, 21 Oct 2026 12:01:00 GMT

Home Turf Sports Complex is a planned 45,000-square-foot indoor sports destination coming to Fairview Heights, Illinois, with a future goal of opening in 2027. Created by five local sports families, it is designed to give Metro East athletes one year-round place to train, play, compete, and grow—without constant weather cancellations or long drives.

Built by Sports Families, for Sports Families.

The idea began with a familiar challenge: families were spending too much time piecing together athletic opportunities across the region.

A practice might be held in one town, a batting lesson in another, a strength session somewhere else, and a weekend game several hours away. When rain, snow, heat, or early darkness changed the schedule, families had to adjust all over again.

For athletes, that disruption can make consistent development difficult. For parents, it can mean more driving, more coordination, and fewer opportunities to gather in one place. Coaches and teams face similar challenges when they need dependable space for practices, evaluations, camps, or offseason work.

The five families behind Home Turf Sports Complex knew the need personally. They were not simply looking for another place to play. They wanted to help create a better sports experience for the Fairview Heights and Metro East community: a place where athletes could keep working, families could feel welcome, and teams could spend meaningful time together.

Baseball sparked the original idea, but the vision quickly became broader. Home Turf is planned for athletes across multiple sports and age groups, from young players discovering a new activity to experienced competitors preparing for their next season.

What need will an indoor sports complex address?

A year-round indoor sports facility can give athletes and teams more consistency. Instead of relying entirely on outdoor conditions or scattered rental options, families can have a planned destination for training, practices, camps, clinics, and team activities.

Home Turf is being planned around several practical needs:

Reliable training space: Athletes can continue working when outdoor fields are unavailable or weather disrupts a schedule.
Less travel: Families may be able to combine different activities in one destination instead of driving between multiple facilities.
More flexible team use: Coaches and organizations can have additional options for practices, rentals, clinics, and gatherings.
A stronger community connection: Athletes, parents, coaches, and supporters can share a welcoming space close to home.
Opportunities for growth: Young athletes can explore sports, build skills, and develop confidence over time.

This does not mean every training need belongs indoors. Outdoor competition, school programs, and local leagues remain important parts of an athlete’s experience. The goal is to add a dependable option that complements those opportunities.

For families in Fairview Heights and across the Metro East, proximity matters. A nearby facility can make it easier to keep training consistent while preserving more time for school, work, rest, and family life.

A vision built for more than baseball

Baseball was the starting point because batting practice and field access can be especially difficult to arrange throughout the year. But Home Turf is intended to serve a much wider athletic community.

The planned facility is expected to support athletes who want to improve speed, strength, agility, coordination, technique, and game readiness. Its flexible design is intended to make room for different sports and uses rather than limiting the building to one season or one type of athlete.

That broader purpose is central to the project. A child may first visit for a baseball activity, then discover another sport. A team may come for a practice and later return for a clinic. A family may use the facility for training while also finding a place to connect with other local sports families.

This multi-sport approach reflects how modern athletes often develop. Skills such as balance, movement, reaction time, teamwork, and discipline can transfer across activities. More importantly, exposure to different sports can help young people find what they enjoy.

Home Turf’s planned Athlete Development resources will be part of that larger vision. The focus is not only on performance, but also on helping athletes build habits and confidence that can support them beyond a single season.

What will Home Turf Sports Complex offer?

Home Turf Sports Complex is still under construction in the planning and development process, so its future offerings should be understood as planned features rather than currently available services.

The 45,000-square-foot destination is planned to include:

A flexible turf field for practices, training, and team use
Batting cages for baseball and softball work
Private golf simulators
Performance training, strength, and agility areas
Camps and clinics
Team rentals
Concessions
Family gathering space

The combination is intended to make Home Turf useful for more than a single appointment. Athletes may train, teams may practice, and families may spend time together in the same overall destination.

Flexibility is especially important in an indoor sports complex. Different sports have different space requirements, and teams need options that change throughout the year. A flexible turf area can support practices, drills, group sessions, and other planned activities while helping the facility serve a broad audience.

The family gathering space and concessions are also meaningful parts of the concept. Sports facilities are often where families spend long stretches of time. A comfortable, welcoming environment can make those visits easier and help turn a practice location into a community destination.

How will the facility support athletes and families?

The planned experience is built around convenience, consistency, and connection.

For athletes, that may mean more chances to practice specific skills, stay active between seasons, and work toward personal goals. For coaches, it may mean another setting for organized practices, team development, camps, and clinics. For parents, it may mean fewer separate stops and a clearer place to support their children’s interests.

The impact can also be social. Young athletes often grow through relationships with teammates, coaches, siblings, and other families. A shared indoor destination can create more opportunities for encouragement, friendly competition, and community participation.

Home Turf is being shaped by people who understand those moments firsthand. The five founding families are approaching the project as sports families building for sports families. That perspective helps keep the focus practical: what athletes need, what parents manage, and what local teams can use.

The facility will not replace schools, parks, outdoor fields, or existing community programs. Instead, it is planned as an additional resource for the Metro East sports ecosystem.

Why does the 2027 goal matter?

Home Turf’s planned 2027 opening is a future goal, not a statement that the facility is open today. The project is still being developed, and details may continue to take shape as construction and planning progress.

Keeping that distinction clear matters for families who are already looking for training or practice space. Home Turf is a destination to look forward to, follow, and plan around—not a currently operating facility.

At the same time, a future opening gives the community something concrete to anticipate. It allows athletes, teams, coaches, and local supporters to learn about the vision as it develops. People interested in progress can visit Follow the Build for updates and project news.

The planned opening also represents a longer-term investment in Fairview Heights. The goal is not simply to build an indoor field. It is to create a place that can support athletes and families across many seasons, while contributing to the area’s sense of community.

How can local families follow the project?

Families, coaches, and community members can stay connected as the vision develops. The best next step is to explore the Home page, learn more About the project, and follow updates through Follow the Build .

Those considering future facility use can also review the planned Facility information. Teams and organizations interested in potential future opportunities can use Contact Us to share questions or express interest.

Because Home Turf is not open yet, availability, pricing, booking details, and final operating information should be confirmed through official updates rather than assumed. Planned options such as memberships, camps, team rentals, and other activities will become clearer as the project moves forward.

The bigger picture

Home Turf Sports Complex began with a simple observation: local athletes and families need more dependable ways to train and spend time together. Five sports families turned that observation into a shared vision for a planned indoor destination in Fairview Heights.

Baseball may have sparked the idea, but the purpose reaches across sports. With a flexible turf field, batting cages, golf simulators, performance areas, camps, clinics, team rentals, concessions, and family space planned for the future, Home Turf is designed to help the Metro East sports community do more in one welcoming place.

The next step is to follow the project, learn about the planned facility, and watch for official updates as the 2027 opening goal approaches. Home Turf is not open yet, but its purpose is already clear: help athletes train year-round, help families spend less time driving, and help local sports communities grow together.
